Destiny 2 Update Will Include New Rewards Systems, Economy Changes

All the details are coming soon, but here's what we know right now.

Destiny 2's next major update is coming alongside the Curse of Osiris expansion early next month, and now developer Bungie has shared some new details about it. Game director Luke Smith said on Twitter that on the systems side of the December update, you can expect the following changes:

Economy updates (vendors & acquiring their gear, tokens, legendary shards).
Investment updates (new reward systems for weapons & armor).
Gameplay updates.
"And more."
That's as specific as Smith got, but he said players can expect more details, hopefully including all the specifics, on Destiny 2's big new update later this week. Not only that, but Bungie project lead Mark Noseworthy and Smith will answer fan questions and address some of the feedback that Bungie has heard since Destiny 2 launched.

Of course, we'll be following these announcements and commentary closely, and we'll report back with more details when they're made available.

Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris expansion launches on December 5 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The expansion is set on Mercury, and there are new story elements and quests, while the level cap is getting raised, more weapons are being added, and new maps are coming to Crucible, among others things. Keep checking back with GameSpot for the latest on Curse of Osiris. In addition to the expansion, Destiny 2 will receive Xbox One X and PS4 Pro enhancements on December 5.
